2017 Invitations



Saturday, 25 March   Spring Fayre, Shipley Library
Rainbow are delighted to be back in the newly-reopened Shipley Library for their annual Spring Fayre.  This year doors open at 2pm.  There are many bargains to be had on the nearly-new, bric-a-brac and toys and books stalls.  Not to be missed – the delicious cakes stall and the ever popular tombola.  Tea and biscuits will be available.

Roberts Park, Saltaire from 1pm

Rainbow are delighted to be hosting French folk group Terre Baugeoise during their Easter tour of the area, along with Latvian folk group Dudalnieki, who are based in West Yorkshire,.  We have also invited a couple of local dance teams to join us, along with a Lancashire clogger, for an afternoon of song, dance and friendship.  Our dance spots will be near the bandstand and outside the Half Moon Cafe.  Not to be missed!

World Heritage Weekend, Roberts Park, Saltaire

Rainbow are delighted to once again be invited by the Friends of Roberts Park to participate in their weekend of events.  We are really looking forward to it!

Saturday, 29 April   Tour de Yorkshire event, The Bull, West Tanfield

Passing through:  11.15am Women’s Race; 4.15pm Men’s Race.Rainbow have been invited to dance as part of The Bull’s programme of events for locals and visitors. We are told that there will be “a fabulous choice of fine beers from Yorkshire Breweries on sale, along with a superb menu”.

Saturday 13 May  Saltaire Day of Dance Workshop

Once again, Rainbow are running a workshop at the Saltaire Day of Dance.  Please come along and have a go at morris dancing – we guarantee you’ll have fun!

Hebden Bridge Folk Roots Festival 2017

Once again we look forward to joining Hebden Bridge Hill Millies and several other teams to dance together in the town square.

Saturday, 3 June   The Airedale Heifer Day of Morris Dancing
We are looking forward to joining Flag Crackers at the Airedale Heifer, a large gastro pub in Riddlesden with a beautiful beer garden and its own on-site real ale micro brewery, which is open to the public.


Sunday, 18 June   Friends of Valley Gardens, Harrogate: 1940’s Day
Rainbow very much enjoyed being part of this event last year and are looking forward to performing once again between midday and 2pm.


Friday, 23 June  Sunday, 25 June   Yorkshire Coast Weekend, Scarborough
As we have for many years, Rainbow are once again joining our friends, Yorkshire Coast Morris and other teams, for a weekend of dancing and socialising.


Saturday, 8 July    Fylde Coast Cloggers Day of Dance, St Annes
Once again, Rainbow are looking forward to joining Fylde Coast Cloggers and other invited teams for a very enjoyable day on the Fylde Coast on Carnival Day.  We are looking forward to watching the Carnival Parade – always a spectacular sight.


Sunday, 30 July – Re-opening of Cliffe Castle

We’re pleased to have been invited to be part of the re-opening ceremony at Cliffe Castle, Keighley.  We are due to perform on the Bandstand between 3pm and 3.20pm.  We will also be dancing more informally outside the museum during the afternoon.  We are really looking forward to participating in this event.

Tuesday, 1 August – Yorkshire Day at The Hartshead, Liversedge

Following last year’s celebrations, which we enjoyed very much, we’re delighted to have been invited to participate again this year (evening).

Day of Dance at Saltaire Festival

Following 400 Roses’ fantastically successful events in 2015 and 2016, We are once again hosting a Day of Dance at Saltaire Festival.  We will be dancing at spots around the village, joined by several other teams including, we’re delighted to say, 400 Roses.




We’re delighted to once again be invited to dance outside Victoria Hall prior to the turning on of the Saltaire Christmas Lights.  Last year’s event was very enjoyable – very busy and a great atmosphere.  We’re looking forward to it!



We’ve been attending Haworth’s Christmas activities weekends for many years.  We’re looking forward to this dance out very much – always a super event.  As usual, we’ll be dancing around the village before joining the procession from the top to the bottom of Main Street, where we’ll be adding our voices to the carol singing around the Christmas tree.
