Day of Dance Workshop

On Saturday, 18 October, we ran a very enjoyable dance workshop as part of the biannual Day of Dance Charity Event in Saltaire.

Eight rather worried looking people had booked onto our session which was held in the rooms under the United Reform Church. Following a short introduction to morris dancing, a demonstration of the dance they were to learn and some warm up exercises, they became more relaxed and turned into one the most receptive and competent groups we have taught.

We finished the session with a performance of ‘Hindley Street’ on the church drive in front of an audience, to thunderous applause. We continue to be impressed with the enthusiasm and enjoyment that people bring along to these workshops and invite anyone interested to come and join us for a Monday evening session.”

Morris Federation AGM and Day of Dance – Keswick 27th September

“Once again we have been fortunate with the weather whilst dancing at the Morris Federation AGM and Day of Dance with Belfagan and all the others- 29 sides in all which made an extremely colourful and musical Keswick on Saturday 27th September.

It is always delightful to meet fellow dancers and musicians from other teams with lots and lots of different types of dancing and being in outstanding beauty spots is an added bonus as well as many people watching and enjoying what we all love doing.

This time we hired a minibus to take us all up to Keswick and many thanks to Terry for driving. And we made the most of the minibus by visiting Grasmere and Waterhead on Sunday instead of driving straight back home.”
