Day of Dance at Saltaire Festival
RAINBOW MORRIS DANCERS DAY OF DANCE AT SALTAIRE FESTIVAL
SUNDAY, 10TH SEPTEMBER 2017
We were delighted to host our Day of Dance on the first Sunday of Saltaire Festival. Seven guest teams – 400 Roses, Briggate Morris, Fiddle ‘n’ Feet, Flag & Bone Group, Leeds Morris Men, Makara Morris and Yon Lot Cloggers – joined us to dance around the village at spots including the Salt Building, the Mill Yard and Roberts Park. At the end of the day, all teams congregated on the Saltaire United Reform Church drive for a showcase, a group photo and a mass dance.
Our HQ for the day was Caroline’s Social Club who looked after us really well, providing hot drinks throughout the day (plus alcoholic ones if required!). Once again our home made tea-time cakes went down very well.
We were extremely lucky that the expected heavy rain held off until it was time to head home.
Special thanks go to Rosey, 400 Roses’ musician who also played for us as our musician was away. She did a fantastic job.
All in all – a great day.
